node 0 is hidden. if you're starting your local node with "MAX(P).EXE -n2" 
then it will log on with node 2. if you start it for the remote caller with 
"MAX(P).EXE -w" (or -bxx -pxx etc) then it will log them in on node 0 
(default) .. since node 0 is hidden, it doesn't show up.
this is probably the most common problem.. people assume that node 1 is 
default, but they don't realize that node 0 is, and node 0 is hidden.
