| subject: | F1: Trulli completes half-marathon |
Jarno Trulli completed a total distance 21km on February 9th during winter
testing. A disappointing day's work? Not when you're on foot!

As stiff westerly winds brought cold, sunny weather to the British Isles
yesterday, almost three thousand competitors were lining up for the
Wokingham half marathon. Among them, just one runner amongst many more, was
a familiar face: Mild Seven Renault F1 Team driver Jarno Trulli. The
Italian, who moved to nearby Binfield two years ago, decided the challenge
would form part of his winter training.
"It went pretty well," he explained afterwards. "I took it
quite easy at the
beginning but by halfway, I realised I was behind schedule, so started
pushing a bit more. It was a while since I had run for such a long period --
in training, we only usually run for an hour, or an hour and twenty minutes.
I was pleased to finish in good shape, and whatever else, it was useful
training!" The only problems came from the typically awkward British
weather: "I know it's February" joked Jarno, "but I still
wasn't prepared
for it to be quite so cold and windy!"
This week, attention turns to testing, and three days with the new R24 at
Jerez. Trulli is feeling positive: "Everything looks pretty good so far,
doesn't it? The reliability is good and Fernando has told me that although
we still have improvements to make, the car seems quick. I have high
expectations for testing this week."
Trulli will take the wheel of chassis R24-01 on the 10th, with Franck Montagny
alongside at the wheel of last year's R23.
