sndPlaySound or PlaySound will do the job. I believe you could also do
this by sending MCI commands to the wave-audio device. If you wanted to be
able to substitute playing a CD, a video, etc., instead of a .wav file, the
latter might provide an advantage; otherwise, sndPlaySound or PlaySound are
undoubtedly easier.
