Well the French may not stand for it, but they are well known to lay down
for just about anything.  When Germany and East Germany were reunited in
the 90's, all males over the ages of 17 started picking out their places to
lay down even back then.  The USA economy is the engine that drives the
entire world economy.  The USA if it had to would adjust and meet all its
needs. The USA is a food exporter and feeds much of the rest of the world,
not the other way around.
