> No cell phone either, huh? :->

Of course I have a cell phone. Had one since the eighties. However I am
not inundated with junkmail on it, so it remains a convenience for me. The
picture facility is largely wasted, but it can use the internet to send
pictures via the GPRS system. So far it has never connected above 9600 Baud
so I tend to use the computer instead. Nokia provides a program that
uploads data and pictures to the computers for onward transmission.

 > deal. Just don't blame the low speed difference ;-)

No blame attaches to anybody or anything. The broadband speeds start at
128 Kbps at about four times the price of dial-up, and you have been
consistently considering something about eight times faster than that, so
really you were comparing apples with oranges. You do realise that 128 Kbps
is less than three times as fast as dial-up? Yours of course is about 600
times faster, but as I said, I don't need that speed.

In fact the very concept of blame is foreign to rational decision
making because it is entirely emotive.

Best Wishes,
Bill.
