Yes, as it came out of the box the Antec maxitower had 6 fans:
- one at the PSU itself
- two at the back
- two at the front (in front of the HD)
- one at the bottom of the case.
- not to mention the CPU fan.
- And I was supposed to be unhappy if I didn't add a few more.
And IIRC the fans were supposed to use a lot more than 10 Watt.
IMHO this concept was the result of bad thinking, as your reaction
already implies.
