MA> I really don't believe a conflict of interest exists with
MA> Judge Starr who himself was selected by Janet Reno to
MA> conduct the investigation.
RC>Not to mention the fact that in 1992-3, the Senate
RC>*Democratic* majority was so convinced of Starr's
RC>polictical neutrality that they selected him to review
RC>Packwood's diaries to determine which portions were
RC>admissible.
RC>Nor has the media pointed out that one of the attorneys
RC>accompanying Starr to the Grand Jury is Sam Dash, the lead
RC>attorney for Sam Ervin during the impeachment of Richard
RC>Nixon and someone who is hardly a member of the right-wing
RC>conspiracy.
I dunno...according to Hillary it's a pretty big consipracy and
include the press and a former Clinton Chief-of-Staff. In fact, about
the only person the administration has not accused of being in the
consipracy against the President is Ted Kennedy.
MA> What we are experiencing is another of those Slick Willy
MA> type diversions to shift public attention from himself to
MA> someone else. I would not at all put it beyond the Clinton
MA> administration itself to being the source of the "leaks" in
MA> an attempt to discredit Judge Starr and focus everyone on
MA> the investigator rather than upon the person being
MA> investigated.
RC>[...snip...]
RC>Michael Isikoff(sp?) has stated that his leaks came from
RC>the Clinton Defense Team.
You heard the response of the administration to a news
reporters question about the administration being the source of the
leaks to set up Starr didn't you? "We appreciate the credit, but you
don't really think we're that smart do you?". The reporter answered
"Yes." It was Sam Donaldson I think.
