I've played with a few of the Beyers, but have never "lived" with a pair.
My initial response was that they were a -bit- to "recessed" for me, but they
did seem well balanced and reasonably comfortable. I suspect my opinion would
improve if/when I have a chance to keep a pair and spend time with them. I

like their mics (AKG too....)!

I LOVE the Stax, always have, despite the above limitations. I freaked out a
bunch of people on an airplane flight to a C.E.S. back in the early '80s
(before common/widespread portable CD's) with a "laptop computer" type
softcase
which in one side was a mini 3-head Marantz cassette w/DBX, and a pair of
tax
with their "portable" Class A headphone amp, and on the other "side" was an
additional battery pack setup and cassettes. WONDERFUL sounding, one of the
best sounding bag setups I've heard until the advent of "portable
ital"....
