Everyone who reads this thread pretty much knows what Rob and I were talking about. I jumped in because Rob assumes (or assumed) that 16-bit BBS software is "crappy", which I disagree. However I agree with him that Renegade does NOT do Telnet - on its own. Renegade "does Telnet" only with the assistance of a FOSSIL driver that's hooked itself into the operating system's TCP/IP stack, ala NetFossil. So, we're actually all in agreement. Rob and I just chose to elaborate on the "RG does Telnet" statement. > I suppose then, MANY BBS softwares did not "do" dial-up... or suffice to > say, > no door games "do" anything for that matter. TBBS and WorldGroup come to mind here... > as I strongly believe both Rob or yourself are that ignorant. Hey, I'm sorry you feel that way. I was an active 3rd-party developer for Renegade when you were at the helm, so I don't think I'm ignorant - I'm contributing more to the BBS community than just banter. You don't see me in here calling BBS software "crappy" or calling others "ignorant". *Nick* --- DB 2.00-Beta1/ie* Origin: Nicks Notebook (1:229/426) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 229/426 2000 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
