I would rather have plain mashed than the typical marshmallow topped
ones, but I do eat a bit of that when served (usually only at a holiday
dinner). I often will order a baked sweet potato when we go out. Gail
does not care for them, so we don't have them at home. I do have to
make certain that I want the usual cinnamon butter on the side --
otherwise they put so much on that it cloys the taste for me.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: No-Bake Raisin Rum Balls
 Categories: Cookie
      Yield: 4 Servings

1/3 c Rum or orange juice
    1/3 c Old-fashioned oatmeal,
           Uncooked
      2 c Powdered sugar
      3 tb Unsweetened cocoa powder
2/3 c Chopped toasted walnuts or
           Pecans
    2/3 c Golden raisins
    2/3 c Shredded coconut
    1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
    1/4 ts Ground cinnamon
1/3 c Butter, melted and cooled
           About 3 tablespoons
           Granulated sugar

In a large bowl, combine rum (or orange juice, but the rum has a
pleasantly subtle flavor in this recipe) and oatmeal. Add all
remaining ingredients except granulated sugar. Stir until well
combined. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Roll into 1-inch balls.
Place sugar in a small bowl. Roll balls in the sugar, coating well.
Store 24 hours in an airtight container at room temperature before
serving. May be stored in an airtight container for 10 days; for
longer storage, freeze. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
