have any data worth saving on it.

Yes I fiddle with stuff and fix things.  the last two computer bought I
built.  Frankly I have bought my first and last appliance PC.  I can build
them for half the price.

The laptop doesn't have a USB port, until you get it booted. (PCMCIA USB card.)
