From what I've seen, they are passionate about America.  They don't hate
it, they love it fervently.  What they do hate is the direction it is
currently taking.

The thing I find particularly fascinating is the way the two groups react.
One side is saying "America, love it or leave it' and the other side
sees an America more complex than a bumper sticker slogan.
