Wrong. Quake is not a peer-to-peer system like Doom2, Duke3d etc, it is

a server-client system, which is why it sucks so much over a modem. In

the client->server direction only player movements and shooting etc are

transmitted, but in the opposite direction you have *both* players movements,

AND all the environmental things, like they sky moving, water movement,

any monsters, if enabled, and moving platforms etc...FAR more bandwidth...
