Howdy David,
The author of CP/M had no intentions that it become an international
operating system. It was only to get some hobby folks started with their
first computers. When Bill Gates stole a copy, arranged to hack up the first
PC-DOS, and then MS-DOS the author of CP/M wouldn't have sold it since it
wasn't finished.
There are still some identifiable CP/M bugs in MS-DOS 7.0. Now we're stuck
and nobody at MicroSoft knows how the guts of DOS works well enough to fix
.
