Hello David -

CA>>>> Not according to Tom Jennings.

RC>>> What Tom created was system to system communications,
RC>>> echomail came later.

CA>> Wrong.

DD> reread your own posts.

DD> You quote Jennings at "starting Fidonet in '85 - and
DD> setting up echomail in 86".

If I began CoBBS in December of x year I might not get to the
message system until x+1 year. So what? Jennings stated quite
clearly his intentions for FIDO were to send email and files
from the start.

CA>>>> As for who writes the software, how much have you
CA>>>> written lately?

RC>>> I wrote a few utilities for Christopher Baker when he was
RC>>> the Fidonews editor,

CA>> Doesn't sound as though you're going to reinvent any FIDO
CA>> software any time soon.

DD> I did - just this year - well, it wasn't a reinvention, it
DD> was invented from scratch.

To do what?

RC>>> what have you written?

CA>> I wrote over 90% of CoBBS.

DD> Don't know that one.

CoBBS was online when the TRS-80 BBS were the best BBS online
and most using Intel software had XT machines.

RC>>> I also tested and broke alot of software for a few
RC>>> developers.

CA>> Great. I tested and rewrote parts of OBERON.

DD> How many using Oberon with Fidonet throughout the world
DD> today?

I would guess none? I know I would stop using a computer before
I would write OBERON Fidonet software.

I really have no interest in discussing fidonet.
