| subject: | F1: Jordan Imola test notes 2004-02-19 |
Heidfeld and Pantano concluded Jordan Ford's test session in Imola today in cold and wet conditions, completing 30 and 54 laps respectively. James Robinson, Head of Race and Test Engineering: "Conditions were very cold today, dropping down to 2ÐC at some points in the day, and heavy rain in the morning made the track quite dangerous with a number of cars sliding off in the first hour. We chose to be little bit more cautious and waited for the rain to subside and the track to warm, with our drivers completing a combined total of 84 laps accordingly." "Giorgio's planned programme concentrated on a simulated race distance but due to the conditions we decided to postpone this until Silverstone next week when hopefully we will have better weather! We used the day instead to carry out numerous live refuelling pit stops and familiarising him with cockpit procedures. We focused on wet set-up work which may come into play at Albert Park or when we return to Imola for the San Marino Grand Prix in April, when it could be as cold and as wet as it was today." The team's 2004 pre-season test programme will conclude next week at Silverstone on 24 and 25 February.
