Compared to forced air cooling, natural airflow in/out of a typical desktop PC case is minimal - i.e. no *significant* airflow - which in practical terms translated means considerably higher in-case temps without forced airflow in/out of the case. Note my use of the word "reliably". Is your data worthy of reliability? Does your HD like operating 10-30 degrees above its design inside a passively cooled case?
