| subject: | F1: Williams Valencia test notes 2004-02-19 |
Juan Pablo Montoya was joined by team-mate Ralf Schumacher at Valencia, Spain, today, as the Colombian completed a race simulation without any problems. Due to heavy rain overnight, the 4.005 kilometre Valencia Circuit remained damp until mid-morning, giving drivers the opportunity to run on wet-weather tyres. Juan Pablo successfully carried out a race simulation, the Colombian completing 119 laps without any problems, despite a number of red flag periods caused as a result of incidents involving other drivers. Juan Pablo's best time of the day was 1:09.436, posted on his 46th lap. Ralf Schumacher was also on duty for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team. The German spent the morning working on set-ups, trying out a wide range of different settings. In the afternoon he focused on tyre testing in addition to testing the traction control and carrying out a number of practice starts. Ralf completed 76 laps and set a personal best of 1:09.406, his best time at Valencia this year. Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1): "Today Juan completed a race distance, at the same time comparing some tyre compounds for Michelin. Ralf worked on systems checks, traction control and tyre testing in preparation for Melbourne." Heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow's final day of testing when Ralf is joined by Marc Genˆ. -williams- http://www.motorsport.com -- your source for motorsport news on the Internet --- FIDOGATE 5.2.0ds-alpha3* Origin: TCOB1.net a way of life...
