| subject: | F1: Ralf fastest at wet Valencia |
By Nikki Reynolds, F1 Editor - Motorsport.com The wet weather continued for the last day of testing at Valencia this week, Ralf Schumacher topping the list of the four drivers that managed to set a time. Schumacher clocked a best of 1:36.966 in the Williams FW26, team test driver Marc Genˆ second fastest. The duo concluded Williams' three-day session and the team heads to Imola next week for its final winter test before Melbourne. "For the penultimate test before the start of the season, Juan, Ralf and Marc shared testing responsibilities," chief operations engineer Sam Michael summed up. "Over the three days, the drivers have worked through a lengthy programme in order to prepare the FW26 for its debut in Melbourne." The pair of Toyota test drivers were the only other two to make the time sheet, Ryan Briscoe ahead of Ricardo Zonta. Briscoe was behind the wheel of the TF103 but only managed a handful of laps, while Zonta switched to the T104 for the final day for just 13 laps. Toyota moves to Imola next week for its final pre-season test. BAR's Takuma Sato paddled out for a lap in the heavy rain before giving it up as a bad job, and McLaren and Jaguar decided not to bother at all. New test driver Bjorn Wirdheim never got to see any action as Jaguar worked on the cars off-track before packing up and heading back to base in the UK. http://www.motorsport.com -- your source for motorsport news on the Internet --- FIDOGATE 5.2.0ds-alpha3* Origin: TCOB1.net a way of life...
