JS> A friend of mine used to have problems with returning bad
JS> motherboards: sporatic problems would occur, he'd return the mboard,
JS> the supplier would hook it up and run a quick diag on it, find no
JS> problem and tell him there was no problem. He finally figured out
JS> how to assure these bad motherboards would not get sent back to him:
JS> He pulls out one of these 100,000 volt stun guns and applies the
JS> electrodes to the power inputs on the board...
I wish every dealer would do that. Do you know what happens to all those
electronic devices with intermittant problems? Eventually they show up
in mail order catalogs and computer stores as "bargains" at a deep
discount. Meanwhile, honest dealers go broke trying to beat the prices
and end-users go crazy trying to debug problems with "new" equipment.
