JR> Has anybody in here ever seen a walkman type cassette deck with Dolby S?
A few years ago AIWA came out with a real nice cassette player (no
radio) that had Dolby C and B. Thus, I'd try an upper scale sound
salon to dig into their catalogs and see what's there.

That's almost a given now as any player worth it's salt will have 70
microsecond playback EQ.

And not hear the phone ring?

Panasonic once made a "walkman" style unit that had Dolby B and dBX
type II. Had I found one, I would have kept my dBX 224 encode/decode
unit. :-) The separate decoder that was available didn't quite decode
right... Uh... PPA-1 I think was the model...

Never used Pioneer portables, but Kenwood and Sony make me cringe. :)
