Well if you get around to it don't forget to maybe have an option to ignore 
that Carrier Detect until the modem has time to Init. 

or some sort of external utility to init the modem then exit prior to 
loading up DB as sending the signal direct to the comport doesn't work 
without the FOSSIL magic.
