Too late.
Chris, you've been through this before, and enough people in both here in
FidoNet and UseNet on the InterNet are more than aware of James.
It is not James' knowledge of Trek that is at issue; it is his inability to
allow for opinions that are different from his own, his constant action to
force all who post to conform only to the Trek that _James_ believes in,
ridiculing any view which does not include his own interpretations as the
foundation, and his rather piss-poor attitude towards people who do not
acknowledge that he is the "Trek Perfect Master".
More recently, his racist attacks on Mike Okuda (referring to him as the
'stinking Jap') or his sexist comments (asking if a particular female poster
was not only a Trek fan, but also if she could suck a golf ball through a
garden hose) have indicated that James is not quite ready for polite
discussion in *any* area...and that James has not bothered to learn from the
fact that he's been BANNED from *every* Trek-based conference that FidoNet
offers to date.
James _had_ the opportunity to rejoin this conference; he not only chose to
ignore it, he also made the error of trying to enter this conference without
permission, following his banishment.
He further threatened a "civil rights lawsuit" because he believed that he
has a 'right' to discuss his belief in Trek without any form of control. As
well, he attempted to plead his case for removing the moderators of the
various echoes in the "FidoNet Court", not realizing what he was posting in
was the BBSLAW echo which discusses real-life legal matters of concern to
sysops.
When Bob took over as Moderator, I asked him if James would be allowed back
in, since he had not followed the requirements the _previous_ moderator had
imposed. I made no recommendation; I merely asked.
Given that, James Dixon was banished from this echo *PERMANENTLY*.
There is *NO* appeal. There is *NO* 'second chance'. James was advised by
netmail, by echomail, and was made aware of it by sycophants who lurk here
for the purposes of reporting back to James what goes on here, and any time
his name is mentioned.
After four years of failing to take the only action required of him, which
consisted of simply making a *single* COLLECT call to the old moderator,
James was considered to be 'persona non grata'...a person no longer welcome.
It also doesn't help matters when you post this request of yours to the same
moderator that James attacked and insulted elsewhere, calling him a 'liar'
and a 'fraud who pretends he works for Paramount to impress people'.
Further discussion of this is a violation of the conference rules...as you
well know.
