If, as has been reported, there are new bogus messages showing up in
AVIATION where you read  it, please be sure your sysop knows that we
need representative samples of such messages complete with Seen Bys and
Path lines.  Also let him know that his logs may help us catch and cook
the miscreants who are perpatrating this mess.
I cannot stress enough that if we're to STOP this atrocity we're going
to have to make sure ALL our systems are secure. Insecure systems, not
running passworded sessions are the main way packet rammers gain entry
into any system.  Proper security stops them cold.  Please ask your
SysOp to make sure his security is REALLY secure!
The rammers took a run at us right here in my link between BOO! and my
bossnode.  Not ONE message made it into either system nor out onto the
backbone.  All they accomplished HERE was to run up their L/D bill.
This has probably been the case in several other locations as well.
Assure your SysOp that we'd also like to have samples of any and all
bogus messages he may have caught directed at AVIATION.
