Obviously both modems must agree to retraining, but that doesnt necessarily

imply that that is achieved by both users having to enable the command for

retraining manually at both ends. The other possibility I had in mind was

that if it was enabled at the *calling* end (for example) then both modems

would negotiate to use retraining.



What I was after was finding *which* of the possible ways of deciding

whether to use retraining was the one actually used...
