Greetings in the name of my Lord Jesus, Regina!
RF*I just remembered another question. How many hours do some of you teach?
heehee I don't :) Really, we don't have a set curricula to follow,
nor do we have "regular school hours". We are very much relaxed
schoolers, not school-at-home-ers" Doesn't seem to have hurt them at
all; my eldest began attending the local high school this fall, and is
carrying honors English and Honors Math with much trouble...
*We have school 6 days a week. M-F 9-3:15 and S 9:30-12. Is this too
*long. Those who may not remember I have twins almost 9 and one that is
*almost 12. All their birthdates are Dec 6 so they are only a few months
*away from these ages. I know some of you have said you were lucky on
*some days to get 2 hours in. My kids seem to be ok in the morning and
*then in the afternoon they seem to get riled up. This makes it hard to
*work sometimes. How is everyone else doing on this?
When I tried to school at home, it ran the same way. We'd get
started about 10 (after breakfast, morning jobs, etc) , stop for lunch
at noon or so. After lunch it was a do your own thing - too crazy
trying to get back into things. Even doing school-at-home, the kids
really don't need to spend a lot of time on their bookwork. They
accomplish much more is a shorter amount of time than do the kids
who attend PS, for a variety of reasons. There aren't 30 kids
in each class, all demanding attention, with differing levels
of ability and understanding with one person to try and reach all
those kids! Not as many distractions, either :)
