The updates are free for the taking via the web. I believe I also heard that
J3 computers had pressed a CD with several fixpacks for both Warp3 and Warp4
and was distributing it for about $10. I also believe IBM will sell a CD of
any fixpack for a price. Given that it is free, given that hundreds of
problems have been fixed, why wait. Get the update, listen to the voice of
experience. There are parts of OS2 that haven't needed to be changed in
years, there are others that have been tinkered to death. Most of the changes
in the latest fixpacks are really good and make the system more stable.

Actually, yes it can. I had Win95 up and dialing in a few minutes. I have
heard of nothing but problems for people who don't know OS2 that well getting
IP in the WinOs2. If you truly insist in taking that path, ask lots of
detailed questions first. But most important, get the OS2 side functional
first. Also, do not under any circumstances load a Win31 IP stack. You will
just frustrate yourself.

True, however the way Netscape2 is working, the news and mail portions are
just about seperate programs that just happen to be invoked from the browser.
There are at least a dozen news and a dozen mail readers available for OS2 in
native mode. Any of them will be easier to setup than IP inside WinOS2.
