Hello christine and listers,
Perhaps you could consider organizing a seminar for these parents which
would include both time for fellowship and learning about the NFB and it's
phillosophy and what it c can offer these parents.  Perhaps your state
affiliate could organize such a seminar to be held in conjunction with
your up-coming state convention; just as is done at the national
convention.  These parents would be surrounded with successfull blind
adults, and if they choose to stick around could meet some of our national
leadership and learn about how the federation can help them and their
bvlind children.  We do this here in Texas, and the seminars are well
received, but there are still many parents we have yet to reach, and given
time we will.  Perhaps during this time you could have a heart-to-heart
discussion with these parents so you can all air your concedrns, and
hopefully youu will all come away with a better understanding of what the
Federation is, and how it can be of help to both blind children and
adults.
