www.silentpcreview.com really has everything you would want to know
about the subject. Very responsibly undertaken, executed, and updated.
Unless you were an ultimate gamer, in which the watercooling solutions
can be found elsewhere.
Fact is, if the issue is silence for yourself, and not others, major
noise reductions, if there is any to begin with, are achieved by
physically directing it away from the single person you care about, for
example by putting simple, removable baffles , like the solid side or
top of a desk, or a book, between the sound port and your ears.

I'm about as close to it as you can get, but I do know that heat is no
friend of itsy bitsy electroinic parts.
As far as I'm concerned, you're preaching to the choir. I think if I
DID get into fanless I could make a go of it, because I have a minimal
system and maximal interest and aptitude in getting right as far as air
flow, etc.
My question about the two PSU's I posted about was, I believe, actually
responded to only by Kris, who spoke of putting the heat outside the
case via heat pipes. That and the reputation of Coolmax were the two
things I had in mind when I posted about the PSU'd. Unless I recall
wrongly, the rest of the concern and time were spent pretty much on
bashing the whole fanless engineering idea.
