The delta on turnover after the tobacco ban is an increase (if Toronto
experience is anything to go by).
Much weeping and gnashing of teeth by publicans beforehand, small fall off
in turnover in the immediate follow-on period and then an increase because
the smokers (even in mid-winter) nip out for a puff and then return to the
warmth and alcohol inside. Meanwhile, those of us who avoided going
because of the, uh, aroma of smoke, now go regularly.
