JP>> The only problem I've seen with the Roadsters is their annoying inability JP>> to handshake. Upon making a call, they seem to get stuck in a continuous JP>> loop, trying desperately to train. LE> I've seen this with SEVERAL Rockwell modems after V.34+ upgrades. The LE> problem seems to occur ONLY under the following conditions : LE> a) The V.34+ Rockwell modem is originating LE> b) The other end is any V.34+ LE> c) The connection "was going to be" 33600bps It must be in v.34 (28800) generally. It happened to me once just yesterday (internal domestic Courier to some sort of v.34 modem that David Drummond had on for a day or two)...Could have been his Courier, sportster or any rockwell he was trying out. It happened to me twice in the early days of v.34 when trying to connect to USR's BBS Rack (with my USR) It happened to me twice in april 95 using SupraFaxModem 288 (04BC chip) and trying to connect to Supra's BBS Rack. It used to Occasionally happen with the above metioned Supra (04BC) when connecting to an Austel Courier LE> hangs at the end of the handshake, always. Problems with v.42 detection maybe... Try forcing v.42 without trying to detect it.
