I've been rather fascinated by The Haunted Mansion since first riding
it back in 1976 and have discovered some neat secrets about it from a
FAQ I downloaded recently.
For example, The busts that follow you in the library are inverted
figures.
The stretching room at WDW is different from the one at DL. The one in
Disneyland takes you down to a basement where you then go down a
hallway with paintings and windows to get to the main ride. The one at
WDW is different because the walls go up but there is no basement. You
are literally there but don't know it when the lights go out. The
paintings come after you get on the ride. The paintings are on BOTH
sides leading to the library.
The dialouge at WDW is the abridged version as opposed to the one at
DL which is the complete version.
When I first came there was no haunted piano after the library. They
must been renovating it while I was there. And there was a clock in the
library but it was later moved and comes after the chamber of doors
which I love.
Lesile Nielsen who was an actor at Disney is NOT one of the singing
busts in the cemetery.
They recently removed the concession stand before you enter the
mansion. I was able to get a 45 single of The Haunted Mansion story
which came with a booklet. I still have it somewhere. It had scary
plastic masks and creepy trinkets.
