AM>>> What was the S/N ratio reported?

 TP>>

MG>>> The Austel SDLs don't report SNR...

 AM>>> Strange...

TP>> Perhaps Austel thought the numbers might embarrass our

 TP>> telco.

RB>> I was told by the Tech that trained my hybrids, that Telstra

RB>> will only guarrantee 30db S/N. Is this in the standard?

 AM> The standard (Austel Technical Standard 027 - 1996) mentions a

 AM> signal-to-total-

AM> distortion ratio of 23 dB. I believe that 30 dB is an
"in-house" limit

 AM> that

 AM> Telstra use.

Done a little research here

And according to page 9 of the System-12 network operations manual

39db is mentioned so maybe they can be set to 39db if the Tech REALLY TRIES.

Please post me your Fax number and I will fax you the instructions direct

from the manual that are used in training the hybrids.
