Hi Chris,

CS> I need a little help with the above modem. I bought three for the BBS
CS> (before seeing all the talk about their performance) and simply cannot
CS> get the modems to work on the BBS.

Yep, bad luck. A lot of people have problems with Netcomm Roadsters for
running BBS's :-( which is a shame, because mine works well for general
BBS use (I call, not host) and modem games work equally well.

CS> It picks up a call, ALWAYS drops the speed down a couple (someone
CS> calling with a 33.6 connects at 28.8K or even 26.4K etc), and after a
CS> while the modem doesn't even acknowledge a RING when someone calls. It
CS> just sits there and doesn't even flicker.

This is the same problem that Glen Collins had, you could either try chatting
to him, or get the modems swapped. I suggested ATS0=2, but this won't work
for BBS use. Interestingly, in Telix and all other comms programs my Roadster
has no problems detecting a RING, and displays them as they come through. It
also answers with no problems at all.
