RP> Hi,
RP> I have a problem, and am hoping someone can help.
RP> Recently I upgraded to a Supra Fax Modem 28.8 pnpi. My problem is
RP> that it frequently drops carrier when I'm calling long distance. The
RP> problem occurs on a much less frequent basis during local calls. I
RP> suspect that perhaps the problem might be the in the init string which
RP> is as follows:
RP> ATZ ^M~~~AT &C1 &D2 &Y0 S95=3 ^M
Could it be possible volume levels of the long distance
carrier signal? I have seen a Supra 14.4 that has trouble
calling Long distance due to low volume levels.
RP> Oh yes, my communications software is Telix 320
RP> Also, using this init string the modem dials slow (tone), what should
RP> I add so that it will dial fast?
Try S11=1
RP> I have posed this same question to the Supra Forum on Compuserve, and
RP> never received a response from them.
RP> Thanks to all who reply.
RP> Richard Perry
