No worse than the UK. Phil or Adam can probably fill you in on just how
different the regional dialects and idioms are, even today. I have a tape
of a standup comedian from Stoke-on-Trent whose accent and idioms might as
well be in a foreign language as far as my wife is concerned (she's from
Kent).
