Pete, you have some good ideas.  I have not found that seminars, or very
much else, can move those chapters some of us regard as regressive very
far.  I'm not sure why.  Still, hasty resignation to the apparent lessons
of history is probably not the answer.  Elas, why would we bother being
organized and active?
