I assume you already know, but it's adapted from the Adagio in G minor
by Tomasso Albinoni.
FWIW, the original score to Albinoni's Adagio may not exist. The piece
we know today was arranged by a fellow named, Remo Giazotto. He apparently
developed it from a fragment which was discovered in Dresden, Germay after
one of the Allied bombings of that city in World War II.
There are other sections on that Renaissance album which are obviously
borrowed from the classical repertoire. Since you seem to be so well
versed in this sort of thing , here's a trivia question for *you*:
"Running Hard", one of my faves from _Turn of the Cards_ begins with a
lengthy piano introduction which is also taken from a classical piece
originally written for the organ. Do you know what it is?
Cheers,
Martin
