On or about 12-26-05 08:46, JEAN PARROT did engage TOM WALKER

TW> One some here will throw Rocks at as it is only an AMD 1000

JP> I will not be the one, Tom, I run an Athlon 1200.
JP> People in glass houses should not trow stones . . . !

Oh, that does it!

#1a:
466-Celeron, 66-100Mhz extra small footprint MB.
#1b:
 450-AMD K6II-3D, 83Mhz AT MB
#1c:
366-Celeron, ATX MB purchased with a bad BIOS upgrade.

And I could continue with my list of #2 machines.

That list gets downright hilarious!

If the right CPU comes along, I'll upgrade a+c, but b is as fast as it is
likely to go. I have a handful of 72p DIMMS that may upgrade a print server,
and I doubt I've ever payed more than $10-15 for some pretty funky NIC 'cards'.
(IE: USB, PCMCIA, EISA...) Usually, what everyone else thinks is garbage, keeps
my trial and error efforts well fuelled. Sure I'd like to find the house that
is tossing a 3GHz SATA equipped unit into the trash, but as things go, I doubt
I'll pay more than a few bucks for such a machine in a few years anyway.

Throw rocks all you want! I'll pick them up. Just don't expect me to sweep up
the glass.
