That's a big problem here in Canada, not sure about the situation where
you are. The driver in this case is a minor (17) so we don't even know
who she is. Charges are pending but in the end she'll likely get off
lightly because it was an accident. In this case the driver crossed the
center line and hit the cyclist in the shoulder of the road in the oncoming
lane.

We should just know better than to be distracted like that when driving
a car. I wonder in a case like this, is it an accident when a persons
actions lead to accident like this??

I don't think I'll continue this here, maybe it would be better to continue
this thread in the LUNATICS echo.
