 I don't understand your aversion to a moderator.

 If you are worried about censorship (or whatever) then why
 dont you make up a "bill of rights" or a "constitution" that
 both the moderator and the echo participants are bound to.

 Most people would agree that in general case, that a trading
 echo should be restricted to trading, be it commercial or
 otherwise.

 Complete freedom is fine, but most people cannot handle it
 and it gradually gives way to chaos. A "moderator" in my mind
 would be there to kick out the twits, not comment on the 
 content of the messages if generally relevant to trading.

 If people kept thier messages about trading, a moderator
 would not be neccesary, but obviously of late they have not
 and as a result there is pandemonium.

 For the record, i am NOT interested in the job :)
