I don't know about that, I learned to shoot with a .38 But I can shoot 
with a .45 better than a .357 which is basically a .38 my last score at 
the range with a rented .45 (Para Ordinance-semi automatic) and scored 
a 4-in the x, 4-10, and 5-in the 9. 
 
Not too bad, But I think I could protect myself and the horses from the 
snakes.
