There is a radio show out in california done by Leo Laporte of call for
help fame. One of his regular recomendations is

You can check this article http://www.directron.com/psu.html. They seem
to think the physical weight of the power supply can be used as an
indicator (more weight, more heat sinking, lower part temps, possibly
lower noise from it)
I can tell you that this is an area where you can easily get hundreds of
conflicting opinions.
