I picked up a pci Buslogic scsi card just for this purpose for less than
$5. But several years ago, I switched from the 25 pin cable to a proper
shielded 50 pin cable for the HP. I've since moved the HP4p to a similar
Adaptec 2940 with a 50 pin external port.
An Advansys scsi card WILL NOT WORK. Hours and hours wasted.
All the old software, such as copyshop, the danmar copier, and CFM
twain-enabled sw works. As does sane/tame.

I'm curious. I have a HP 4P scanner that came with a short ISA
quasi-scsi adapter card (with a DB connector rather than the smaller
SCSI connectors). It is running on my Warp 4 system on the only
machine in the house that still has an ISA slot with CopyShop.
What would it take to get it to run on a PCI only system and what
software would I be wanting to use (I'm very unsure of getting CopyShop
to work with stock SCSI drivers). I do have an Epson 2400 USB attached
that works well with Tame.
