Steve was returning fire at Paul
about Ladies gun?
SG> I saw a mini semi-auto - I think a Kel-Tec - in 9mm this past weekend.
I found a .380 with a price tag I can live with. I forget the name of
the silly thing. Yer basic Saddy nite special for $200 bucks.
SG> It was somewhat difficult to operate but not excessively (for me). But
SG> I know several people who couldn't operate it, or the Glock 27 or the
SG> Firestar.
Gonna pick up some sort of small-frame revolver for the wife...
SG> If you want _bargain_, you might try a Taurus 605. I hear people who
SG> say they have problems of metallurgy or finish, but others say those
SG> have since been corrected. Then there's the Ruger SP-101, the S&W you
SG> mentioned, and a Colt Detective Special with either 5 or 6 shots. The
Folks here 'n' elsewhere have indicated the Taurus is not a bad gun for
the money.
SG> Taurus is the least expensive of the lot, but there are still others
SG> (with no reputation) which list for less - like the Rossi.
I've heard not good stuff about the Rossi...but have no first hand
info.
SG> Of course, make sure she has a chance to try it out, whatever you look
SG> at. It may be she'd rather have a PPK, Bersa and/or Makarov after all.
She can't have a Mak. That is the most oogliest looking gun. Yeah, I
know that doesn't make any sense, but I don't have to .
Because of the strength issue I'm almost certain it'll be a wheel gun
for her. She's had no problem with my old Smith. It's too large for
her for discrete carry, but it is an indicator that the first choice
_should_ work.
Thanx for your thoughts.
