Whereas some official may want >prisoners tortured for a purpose, the perpetrators are acting out of The motive for taking the photos probably varied with the photo taker. It could have been anything from wanting to document rotten behavior to wanting to send photos home to demonstrate how they were getting their revenge on the low-life perpetrators of 9/11. Bill has a point, but it is a point wrong-headed in the extreme. It can even be interpreted as feeling rather sorry for the torturers on the basis that if he were there under those circumstances, he might have done the same. If I had been in Himmler's position, would I have done the same as he? No way in hell would that have happened. Some people will do those things and some will not and that is true regardless of circumstances. Bill is just being his usual smarmy self. Recall this is the man who urged us to send letters to service people in Iraq, whether we knew them personally or not, to let them know they had the support of people on the home front.
