I'd recommend a few changes to the settings of the Lifestyle, including
enabling bidirectional hardware flow control, &R0 for true DSR, \X1 to
pass through X-ON/X-OFF and the %R and *TH commands set to train and
retrain on medium BER (Bit Error Rate). Doing an AT*H should bring up a
list of commands on the modem.

One should also be aware that the Lifestyle only has Class 1 (EIA 578 or
ITU-T T.31) fax capabilities. Also, their is no upgrade to 33600 bps
capable V.34.

Although Lewin Edwards has stated that these modems were difficult to
setup, I found the trickiest modem to setup was the Multi-Tech MT2834ZDX,
although Multi-Tech were helpful in answering queries.
