Good evening, Gilles
Back on the 26th of October you were asking:
GB\ Just to ask if you are YEAR 2000 ready. I know FP was 2000 ready, but
\ the application you develop are?
Yes, thankfully FoxPro is ready for the next millenium. In the
applications I am developing and maintaining, I have just started to SET
CENTURY ON as a default. There are data entry screens need to be
revised when date entry fields need 10 spaces instead of 8. Also, in
many instances users will have to get used to keying 4 digits for the
year, instead of 2.
Nevertheless, it may be wise to do some error checking of user-entered
dates. I can envision someone revising a date:
They start with: 12-14-1996 then key 6 digits
and end with: 12-16-9619 (presuming insert mode is on)
Greetings from Chicago's southern suburbs, Randy Bosma
