subject: [OS2HW] Wireless security

Laptop, Fujitsu C2330, Realtech 8138 wired lan, Intel 2200B\G wireless
lan.

Reinstalled eCS 1.2rm. All the pieces seem to be there. Has sound
and PC Card utilities that it did not have before. 8139 connects OK.

Laptop, Fujitsu C2330, Realtech 8138 wired lan, Intel 2200B\G wireless
lan. 8139 works OK.

Installed Genmac 100+16. Changed 8139 to 2200 in MPTS. Installed
XWLAN 2.12. Created Widget.

Boots OK except DHCP does not get parameters....

I can connect to the WEB thru my neighbor's router - 150 ft away - but
not mine. His is set public, mine is private. I set up wireless
security under W2K while being guided by Linksys tech support.

It has:
Network name
Default transmit key 1
WEP 64 bits 10 hex digits
Key 1 is a 10 digit decimal. Tech support said nothing about using
the generate function or a passphrase.

I entered that info in W2K and it works.

I enter the above 10 digit number in a LAN monitor profile and the
next time I open the profile it has been truncated to 5 digits.

Under eCS, in Scan for hotspots, my router has the flag and connect is
grayed out. Monitor says IP interface is being configured: lan0.
Entering the router address in the browser gets nothing, just "done".
