Hi'ya Steve,
Steve Ross wrote in a message to Les Lemke:

LL>You don't have to wonder any more...anyone the damned fed or state
  >government doesn't like it goes after any way it can.
SR> Hiya Les,
SR> Appreciate your input on this, really kind of thought it was
SR> just my imagination. Come to think of it, I'll bet that's
SR> what Bob Dylan meant when he said "to live outside the law
SR> you must be honest" or something just like that.
Nope, it ain't yur imagination.....although they would prefer to
have you THINK that it's only you...
SR> Us citizens oughta go after what we want any way we can.
SR> Usually, we cower.
NO! Never, never, never cower ESPECIALLY where it comes to telling
it like it =IS=!
You know that old, overused saying which goes, "Use it or lose it!" ?
Well....that old saying usually is aimed at guys and sex, but that
saying also applies to our rights under the U.S. Constitution.
With more and more government attempts at intimidation and strong armed
tactics in SO-CALLED law enforcement I've found that a whole lot of
folks don't want to voice their opinions for fear of some evil power
which will come swooping down on them and make their lives a living
hell.
Well...lemme tell ya....if people clam up and cower to that kind of
bullshit intimidation then the government will REALLY have achieved
what they want...and that is an OBEDIENT citizenry.
True, there are indeed laws which have to be obeyed in order for
a society to function and so that we all can live in peace.
THEN there are the insane laws of oppression; oppression aimed at
free speech, oppression aimed at a person being secure in their
own homes and free from fear of jackbooted thugs busting down
their door when they have done nothing wrong and when they have
in no way given ANY so-called law enforcement agency "probable cause"
to be visited by assault forces.
No, the one thing us citizens NEVER do is shut up, clam up and crawl
over into the corner and answer "Yes Sir, and No Sir. That is total
bullshit and something I will never do.
Remember that old saying, "Better dead than red" ?
Yeah....you got it. That applies right here in the U.S. of A.
LL>Ever since I became politically outspoken about the bullshit going on
  >in this state's capital (Salem, Oregon) and in Washington D.C. I've had
  >my taxes watched like a frigging hawk by the state revenuers and have
  >received notices whenever there was even the slightest mistake.
SR> I think that's something to think about. I'd noticed being
SR> called on the carpet a little more than usual in the last
SR> year, for silly little shit.
yeah....and that AIN'T just in your head either.
SR> It's kind of interesting for
SR> me, and not really too inconvenient, since we're (my ex & I)
SR> pretty straight bookkeepers (except for the three years'
SR> worth of Federal withholding taxes and state sales taxes she
SR> kinda forgot to pay or tell me about forgetting, but that
SR> came to my attention right after she left me, and I was
SR> forced to take care of some of that stuff myself).
yeah...I've been down that divorce road too. Was married for 11
years. Don'tcha just love the way they strip the money from
a guy and then give him the bills to pay?
SR> I wondered in high school when they made us learn how they
SR> took down gangsters during the Prohibition era with tax laws
SR> and sneaky stuff like that. How come we had to learn that
SR> boring shit? How could it possibly be relevant to our
SR> lives?
Ya know...that's exactly what I thought. Why on earth should I
have to learn that they brought down Capone on tax evasion
charges. NOW I know why they taught that.
LL>My answer to them is pay'em and...... screw'em: KEEP UP the good fight
  >and KEEP telling the people the truth.
SR> That's going to be my answer too. I happen to think the
SR> local IRS agent with whom I have to deal is a screaming,
SR> dangerous,
SR> frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic (she hasn't been really too
SR> rough with me, but I've dealt with her in another business
SR> disguise, and she doesn't seem to realize it because
SR> somebody else's face took care of that stuff and I just
SR> plowed it all into the computer) who has broken on oral
SR> agreement with me and hates men just for fun. And appears
SR> to be using her discretion to benefit some other butthead.
You know that old saying about how power corrupts and how
absolute power corrupts absolutely ?
SR> How's that tagline go? Smile, and invite them to a tea
SR> party?
Ha! or Smile and make them wonder what you're up to...
LL>The ONE thing they can't stand is the truth.
SR> And the truth shall set you free.
yup.....it also helps set others free when you speak the truth.
  Les
